The above figure shows that higher Import has made in year 2008 than 2007 and its growth was 51.18%. But year in 2009 import was decreased than 2010 and its growth was negative. In year 2011 Import was lower comparing to the previous year and its growth was 28.18%.

The above figure shows that in year 2007 to 2011 Import was higher than Export and Remittance in amount. But in 2011 import growth fall to 28.18%, export growth fall to -24.30% & remittance growth fall to 9.67%. On the basis of import in year 2011 import amount was higher than others year. In year 2010 higher export amount was seen than the others years. In case of Remittance in year 2009 amount was higher.

I compared between total income and income from foreign trade of IBBL of Elephant road Branch I found that in year 2007 to 2011 the contribution of foreign trade among total income of Elephant Road branch was one third of total income. In year 2009 was the highest contribution 31.76%. In year 2011 was highest income from the foreign trade 56.5 million and total income in this year of elephant road branch was 190.49 million.

In 2010 the contribution of trade income of Elephant road is less than the others four year which is the result of global recession. Because of recession the Bangladesh import suffered from global recession.
