Indivisible is a book written by James Robison and Jay W. Richards. These men have realized that America will not be ok until Christians get involved with politics. In this book they discuss major political issues that Christians have to face. Abortion, government spending, marriage, poverty and prosperity, God and politics, energy and the environment, education, and free trade are just a few. Robison and Richards, both from different religious groups, believe that if Christians as a whole do not unite, we will not have change in our government. Christians must unite and stand up against these issues so that our country can be Indivisible.

Evangelicals were involved in politics until the early 1960's. Due to the failure of the prohibition, many of these people started to believe that politics was a worldly distraction. In 1965 Rev. Jerry Falwell said, "Believing the Bible as I do, I would find it impossible to stop preaching the pure saving gospel of Jesus Christ and begin doing anything else - including the fighting of communism, or participating in the civil rights reform... Preachers are not called to be politicians, but to be soul winners." That was the attitude of most evangelicals. They thought they needed to just pay attention to the gospel and forget government. By 1980, many evangelicals, and even Falwell himself, regretted believing this way. While Christians were minding their own business, a poisonous ideology had seeped into schools, courts, government, media, and even churches. People realized that the gospel isn't just about evangelism, but it is also about being salt and light in the entire community, including government.

Robison's and Richard's main concern was getting our country back to the principles it was founded on. One of their main concerns was the Christians that fight amongst themselves. God did not call us to fight over who interprets passages of Scripture the right way. He calls us to follow Him. In order to follow him, we need to join together and make a difference in our communities. Even though we don't agree on some things, there are some major political issues that every Christian should believe is wrong. If we do this, we can be an undefeatable force. We can get good Christians in office and support them. We can sign petitions to stop laws. There is no limit to what Christians can do if we join together, and not worry about our differences in belief.

The good news is, we can restore our culture and revive our economy if every Christian helps. We can get back to godly principles if we work together. Indivisible has a great plan for us to do just that. Communities need to find issues they agree on and change them to honor God. If this occurs in your community, it will spread to your county, your state, and eventually this nation. Indivisible was a great book and every leader in the community should read it and apply it. Through being involved in politics,
