The main characters in this movie were Sanaa Lathan, Omar Epps. In my opinion Monica was stereotyped a few times during some parts of the movie. It was just only in the beginning when she wanted to play Basketball with the boys and they told her that she was a girl and girls don't know how to play basketball and that she should go away. Towards the end of the game, she ends up on the grass because he pushed her off the court realizing that she was winning the game. Then she goes home with blood and a scar on her face and her mom was very disappointed in her but on the other hand her dad was ok at the fact that she got hurt. All of a sudden, her mom mentioned that she needs to stop running around like little boys. Monica also encountered discrimination during the movie when she was a freshman on the basketball team and they didn't let her get any play time until one of the starters on the team got hurt. My overall reaction to the film was that I really enjoyed watching it, especially the games. I thought the acting by both Lathan and Epps was outstanding. I found it to be extremely realistic, with the exception of seeing Epps in a Lakers uniform, but other than that, it was real. At one point during the film, I really started to wonder if this film was based on a true story. There is more to it though, than just two people who fall for each other who happen to play basketball. There is the relationship not only between Quincy and Monica, but the relationship they have with the world they live in, trying to find out what they really want in life. It really makes you think about how sometimes the very thing you are looking for is actually standing right there in front of you and you don't realize it. I also feel that the movie represented a positive light about female athletes because in the end she ends up on a good note with basketball and turns into pro with a scholarship to USC.

The main character of the movie was Hilary Swank, Clint Eastwood, and Morgan Freeman. Just to put on a side note, it was a great movie and I enjoyed watching it. In this movie, there was a huge stereotype and it was that women can 't be great boxers. In fact, in the beginning of the movie, Frankie refused to train Maggie just because she was a girl. She replied by saying that she was a tough and durable fighter, Frankie responses by saying that he is not talking about how tough she is. In this short conversation you see a stereotype, of girls not being as strong as men in boxing. Maggie encountered much discrimination in this movie. Frankie didn't want to train Maggie to become a professional boxer just because she was a girl and according to him girls cant box as men.
