Name of the outlet is Radiance (Fictitious)

Introduction

Radiance is a well known brand that has several outlet in different shopping Mall in Singapore. Some of the products that are carried includes cosmetics, skin care, hair and nail products and other complementing products.

We are going to look into the operations of an outlet located on the 1st level of Parkway Parade Mall; the area of the outlet is 400 sq ft. Its operation hours are 10.30am to 8.30pm. No of Staff are 3 staff + Store Manager

Equipment/ Tools and Material available: POS system, credit card machine, computer and all the light and fixtures at the outlet.

The manager has a plan in place to increase the sales transaction per day by 20%.

The total amount of sales done by the outlet at Parkway in July 2011 was SGD 60,000/- per month. So the per day sales target per staff was SGD 670/-. The manger wants to increase the sales for the month of August 2011 to SGD 80,000/- per month. Which work out to SGD 890/- per day per staff.

The manager has organised for special promotions to in the store.

* The details of the promotion are on purchases worth SGD 50/- customer gets a product free for SGD 10/- and subsequently on the purchases worth SGD 100/- the customer can get a products worth SGD 20/-

* The other promotion to boost the sales free makeover for customers for one weekend in the second week of August (13th to 14th). The manager plans to hire two more beauticians for two days to help out for this promotion to further boost the sales.

* The manager has organised to have posters mentioning the promotion placed in strategic entry point in the Mall to boost the footfall in the store.

* The sales figures will be reviewed daily to check if everything is as per target.

With these promotions he plans to increase the sales by 20% than pervious month.

Resources used to implement the boost of number of sales per day.

* Manpower / Specialist : To begin with the staff hired are given thorough training about the products and they also well versed in doing makeover on the customers. The product knowledge of the staff and the customised advice given to the customers that suits their skin tone will be one of the driving factors that will help in increasing the sales. All the staff are also trained in handling the POS system.

* Materials: SOP for staff, website of the brand, catalogs stocks for sale, additional stock have been ordered and stocked at the store room within the stores. The stocks sold and replenished through the distributor is in place
