Saint Brigid of Kildare was half slave and half princess. Saint Brigid is also very stubborn. She has performed many miracles but, being the humble person she is, she barely acknowledges them. Saint Brigid's stubbornness has been a part of her sainthood because she has used it to get her way. For example, Saint Brigid used her stubbornness to not let her father find a groom for her to be wed with, and out of kindness she found the groom her father had found and found the groom a new bride, this is part of the reason we call Saint Brigid "bride". Saint Brigid has been kind to all since she was very young. Saint Brigid enjoyed to give the poor dairy products, and was always giving away her parents things. Saint Brigid is well known for her generosity and kindness towards the outcasts of society in her time.
Saint Brigid of Kildare was a redhead, like me. One thing that is true about most redheads is that they are stubborn. Like Saint Brigid, I am also redheaded. Knowing that most redheads are stubborn, I am also stubborn. But Saint Brigid showed me that being stubborn isn't necessarily a bad thing. For example, no matter how much saint Brigid's father pushed her to get married, and to use her beauty to gain a wealthy groom, she still refused. Despite her father's constant efforts, she made a vow to be tied only to God. It is this stubbornness that kept her going towards her faith. She wouldn't give an inch to her father, letting him know she would not budge on that matter. I have reflected this in my own life, because in the past, when other people challenge my faith, I used my stubbornness to not even doubt the Glory of God. Saint Brigid and I are both redheaded, Irish, stubborn, and hardworking girls that will always stand up for our faith.
Saint Brigid of Kildare is the patron Saint of dairy workers, and dairy workers are known for their hard work. I have always strived to do my best on my goal whether it is about sports, my faith, making friends, or getting a good grade. This behavior is shown in both Saint Brigid and I/me. For example, when Saint Brigid's mother was ill, Saint Brigid took over the task of caring for all of the cows, and milking them twice a day. This is a very hard task to do, it is very tiring and cows are not always ready to comply with the dairy worker. This shows the perseverance (one of the 5 effects of grace according to Thomas Aquinas) and good work ethic that I also have. Saint Brigid and I have never said no to a task, no matter how hard the job. I think that part of the reason Saint Brigid and I have so much in common is our heritage. After all, we are both Irish.
Saint Brigid has done it all, performed miracles, helped the poor, and visited the sick/imprisoned. She has done most (if not all) of the works of mercy but. there is one thing that she has not done. She has not (yet) become my personal
