  • Excellent Company with unique culture
  • Pro- Work life balance, several training opportunities and good compensation packages
  • Con- Not very large company, only 1 location in US, low opportunities to reach management positions.
  • Pro- Great pay and great benefits
  • Con- Waste of money on programs with no value
  • Pros- Top pay, great benefits, best people, family oriented, community focused. Aera is not a stereotypical oil company.
  • Cons- As an oil company, Aera is at the mercy of California's hostal regulatory environment. As a joint venture, Aera's budget is totally at the discretion of parent companies.
  • Advice to Management - Administration of oil related jobs tends to leave all others as second class, more respect needs to be paid to the rest of the workers. Upper management needs to adapt and modernize thinking.

Comments (hiring, # position open, etc.)

  • "Great place to work....if you're in management!"
  • Pros- Ability to take time off when necessary, good customer loyalty/satisfaction
  • Cons- Complete separation of management and regular employees. No recognition to employees who really deserve it. Pay is very low, raises unheard of. Zero communication skills on management level. Company has lost family feel it once had. Morale it terribly low. Upper management too busy lining their own pockets with ESOP cash, using it as a personal piggy bank!

  • Pros
  • Opportunity to move through company quickly and advance through multiple positions/departments in a short amount of time. A lot of exposure to upper management.
