Social Psychology is a science that studies the influences of our situations, with special attention to how we view and affect one another. Social psychology has many different factors that are looked at such as Social thinking Social Influences and Social relations. Through social thinking a person behavior is seen how they see their self and others we all make Judgment on people and our surrounding everyday this is shown through ourselves. With Social influences such as our culture we are taught when we are young also makes up of who we are and how we see the world and others. This brings on Social relations we are some times taught to have prejudice values against other person of different culture or different skin tone.

Social Psychology studies different topics within a person society that affects a person thoughts and behaviors. Such topics are group behavior what is social perception nonverbal behavior, prejudice and even aggression. This is different than Sociology where as Sociology studies people in groups and society "Social psychology focuses more on individuals with methods that more often use experimentation. Compared with personality psychology, social psychology focuses less on differences among individuals, and more on how individuals, in general, view and affect one another." (Myers, 2008, 4).

Social psychology and clinical psychology

Clinical psychology works with individuals trying to find a solution and diagnosis of the person mental disorder. They use practical application of research methodologies and findings in the process of diagnosis and treating a person with a mental disorder. Through assessment for example, interviews and observes and questions with a psychologist will help with the diagnosis of the mental disorder and treatment used. The psychologist will use different methods in obtain information to make a diagnosis for a patient. Research is used to help understand the individual problem a psychologist will sometimes use experimental research and statistical procedure to help determine the individual problems. Where as Social psychologist studies behavior in a different way. "According to psychologist Gordon Allport, social psychology is a discipline that uses scientific methods "to understand and explain how the thought, feeling and behavior of individuals are influenced by the actual, imagined or implied presence of other human beings." http://psychology.about.com/od/socialpsychology/f/socialpsych.htm

Social Psychology and Sociology

"Sociology is the systematic study of social behavior and human groups." (Schaefer, 2002). Through this organized study they are many different sub fields this gives a bigger picture and reliable picture of people and society. This looks at a person behavior within this specific society.
