Books are a significant part of our life as it enables us to gain new insight or perspectives on issues that matter to us and help us have a new understanding of the world around us. The spine of the book, the pages inside the book, and the cover are all parts of the book that carry many virtues that symbolize me.

First of all, the spine of the book is supportive as it is the part that binds the book together. Just like the spine of the book, I am a very supportive person. Whenever one of my friends is in their most vulnerable times, I am always there to look out for them. For example, one of my friend's dog passed away a few years ago. I would constantly talk to him to comfort and advised him to stop being so down. I will always back up my friend's goals whether I think they will achieve it or not. For instance, I talked to one of my friends about his future career and he said that he wanted to be a pilot. I think to myself that it is going to be a very difficult road for him and that he might not accomplish it. But, I do not tell him that. I tell him that if it is what he really wants to do then go for it. Without the support from each other it would be challenging to attain your goals and without the spine of the book it cannot hold itself.

Secondly, inside the book are pages and pages of useful material and ideas. My mind is alike to the pages of the book as I am very intelligent. I do well in school as I get exceptional grades. For example, last year I got 7 A's and 1 B for all 3 terms. I am also knowledgeable outside of school. For instance, I know how to pick computer parts and build it with just the parts. I am truly good at thinking outside of the box and finding solution to problems. The pages are the most important part of the book as it contains all the information just like how my mind is also very important because it holds everything I know.

Lastly, identical to how a book's cover may not be attractive, my looks may not be outstanding, but on the inside I am an extremely friendly person. The cover of a book is just the face of the book and to understand the true greatness of the book you have to look inside. Just like the saying "you should not judge a book by its cover", you should not deduce me from my appearance and instead get to know me and I will open up to you like how a book opens up. For instance, some of my friends thought I was a selfish and unfriendly based on my appearance but then after talking to me for a bit they thought I was a very enjoyable fellow to talk to. Similar to the cover of the book, my appearances does not determine me who I am. It is what is inside of the book and what is inside of me that makes me who I truly am.

In conclusion, books are an excellent way to experience things we would not normally be able to experience. Books can change our lives and other peoples' lives. The supportive spine, the knowledgeable
