If your old enough to have sexual intercourse your old enough to nurture a child. Most teens have sex because of peer pressure from their friends or outside influences. A lot of the time girls think that the guy will not commit to them if they say no. They do it because they think it will replace something lacking in their life and if they have a baby this will solve everything. Many teenagers think that having a child so young is fun but they do now see that raising an infant is a big responsibility. According to Time, "Pregnancy rates among U.S. teenagers, which had been dropping since 1990, took an upturn in 2006, according to newly released data" (Lacombe 2010). Although teen pregnancy is an ongoing problem, there are many ways to help resolve the situation.

Why and how are teens getting pregnant? "....However, the fact of the matter is that most teen pregnancies are unintentional 80 %...."( TEEN HELP 2011). Most people say teens should remain abstinent but should have access to contraception. "94 % of adults in the United States-and 91 % of teenagers-think it important that school-aged children and teenagers be given a strong message from society that they should abstain from sex until they are out of high school. 78 % of adults also think that sexually active teenagers should have access to contraception to prevent teen pregnancy"(internet 2011)

in order for teenagers to understand sexual intercourse has its faults they should be educated with more intensity
