I have read the book The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. It's an amazing book about a girl, named Chloe, and has discovered she is a necromancer (they can see, hear, and summon the dead) in a world filled of normal people but she's not totally alone there are others like sorcerers, half-bloods, and shamans. She is set in a private group home with six other kids, it was Simon and Derek who told her that she was a necromancer, they are supernatural kids too, but when she goes into a crawl space and accidently summons all the dead bodies she find out that the dead bodies were all supernatural people too, they told her that in the group home years ago they were all lured and experimented on until the death, is it just a coincidence that there are three supernatural kids in one place? I think this book will book will be appropriate for seventh graders because it shows a lot general interests, just enough graphics, and last but not least I loved her writing and how she surprised me so much.

There are tons of general interests in this book. It has a Twilight and Percy Jackson feel, because of all the magical stuff going on in a normal world. For example vampires in a world where humans think they are myths. Then in Summoning if you told a human you could see ghosts they would think you were crazy, necromancers are myths along with the other supernatural people. Having that feel is great because it provides mystery, like in the story anything could happen. Also like Percy Jackson there is some romance and action, and these three elements combined is, in my opinion, the best book. You can tell that it's not just me because these books have been big hits, especially in our age range. The very last thing I love and it's basically the cherry on the top is a series, and this book has it. The mysterious feel is scattered all through the book but there is two particular parts for me. One when Simon tells Chloe about necromancers and all the other supernatural abilities on page 200 but really throughout the whole chapter nine-teen. Then the other place is in chapter twenty-eight, Chloe is trapped in the crawl space- by crazed Tori. She feels panicked and accidently summons the dead. That part was the creepiest to me. There's small romance in this too, like Percy Jackson just a bit but starts to gradually get bigger throughout the series. I have a huge hunch that will happen in this book too. Page 315 proves my point I think Simon was about to kiss Chloe but then Derek came. There is action, especially in chapters forty-two to forty-four when their plan to escape fails and the people in the group home are chasing them. As you can see this book will have a huge common interest with a lot of people.

There is perfect amount of graphics in this book, there is not too little but not too much. It's just enough to pull the audience in but doesn't go overboard. For example on page 360 Chloe cut her arm really badly but
