According to the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., technology is the making, usage and knowledge of tools, techniques, systems or methods of organization in order to solve a problem or serve some purpose. Technology is very beneficial, but when you look at all the negative impacts it has on society, you will see all the negativities. The government needs to do away with all technology to avoid bad consequences on society. They need to think of the most negative impacts that technology has on society because it produces pollution to our atmosphere, it has caused people to become job-less because machines are cheaper to maintain than paying a human being and third, technology is very expensive.

Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into a natural environment that causes instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the ecosystem. (Wikipedia Foundation, Inc.) The Earth is surrounded by a blanket of air, which we call the atmosphere. It reaches over 350 miles from the surface of the earth. (Baird 243) Life on Earth is supported by the atmosphere, solar energy, and our planet's magnetic fields. The atmosphere absorbs the energy from the Sun, recycles water and other chemicals, and works with the electrical and magnetic forces to provide a moderate climate. The atmosphere also protects us from high-energy radiation and the frigid vacuum of space. So as I described, you could see how important the atmosphere is to us, so why would we make technology that causes gases to destroy our atmosphere? It will cause us great danger in the end. The main important layer of the atmosphere that has a negative impact from technology is the stratosphere. The stratosphere starts just above the troposphere and extends 30 miles high. (Baird 243) This part of the atmosphere is dry and less dense. The temperature in this region increases gradually about to -3 degrees according to the Wikipedia Foundation, Inc. The ozone layer, which absorbs and scatters the solar ultraviolet radiation, is in this layer. This is the layer we are destroying from technology. One of the major air pollutants is carbon dioxide. It is the most important greenhouse gas produce by human activities. Carbon dioxide comes from burning of fossil fuels. For example, the automobiles we drive, produces carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming. Carbon monoxide, which contributes to smog production. So for the past 30 years, on the road vehicles still account for a significant proportion of air pollution. (Bikes At Work, Inc.) We need to do away with any type of technology that causes harm to our atmosphere. Because all these types of pollutants that destroy our ozone layer will cause global warming. Global warming is when our earth will just keep heating up and heating up, until we basically die from the earth being so hot, and it can cause the world to end. To fix this problem, we could easily use our basics and walk to
