1. The substitute services and customers are the competitive forces that have challenged the television industry. Nowadays, more and more people prefer to watch movie and videos online. Youtube is one of the famous video website providing lots of videos. Instead of going to the cinema or buying the DVD or VCD, most people prefer to watch movie or TV shows in Youtube because it doesn't charge us any fee. Therefore, Youtube has become a challenge to the television industry. The other competitive force is customers. Because more and more customers choose to watch TV shows online due to the convenience of choosing the shows to watch instead of follow the television programme schedule. It also could result in the other problem that the people might cut their TV cable and choose to watch the TV shows online because it could cost them less money. It would make the television industry loss revenue.
2. Clips of copyrighted Hollywood movies and television shows were proliferated on the YouTube Web site. It is illegal for us to do post the copyright videos on the Internet. With this situation, more and more people choose to watch shows online instead of watching on TV. Hence, the TV industries have strong impact.
