Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo, resulting in or caused by its death. Random complications in pregnancy can cause abortion to occur in humans, as well as other species. Sometimes spontaneous abortions can occur usually termed miscarriages (.nlm.nih.gov). Abortions are very common in the United States. By the age of 45 years old, one out of three women will have an abortion. The two methods to end pregnancy are the abortion pill and in-clinic abortions. Both are available at many health centers, and costs start around $350. The abortion pill can be used nine weeks after the last day of a woman's period. Another name for the abortion pill is called mifepristone, which is not commonly used. The abortion pill is an almost perfect pill that works 97% of time. With the abortion pill, another pill called misoprostol that empties the uterus needs to be taken as well. There's more than one kind of in-clinic procedures, but the most common is aspiration, which is a vacuum-like procedure. Aspirations usually are used up to 16 weeks after a woman's last period. In-clinic procedures are known to work every time the procedure happens. Abortion can be traced to ancient times and pregnancies were terminated through a variety of methods such as the use of herbs, use of sharpened instruments, the application of abdominal pressure and other techniques (http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/abortion-4260.htm)

Abortions may lead to bladder injury, bowel injury, breast cancer, ectopic pregnancy, hemorrhage, hepatitis, infection and many other complications. Also there are many effects on future pregnancies. Women will be more likely to bleed in the first three months and will be less likely to have a normal delivery in future pregnancies. They will need more manual removal of the placenta more often, which will result in more complications. Babies will be twice as likely to die in the first few months of life and will be three to four times as likely to die in the last months of his or her first year of life. Babies may have low birth weight and are more likely to be born prematurely with all the dangerous and costly problems. Pro-life individuals believe there are many other options more rational than abortion. For example, adoption would be more rational than abortion. Many couples today are looking and willing to adopt a child who can't have children of their own. Why murder a baby, when a baby can have a chance to have a warm loving family. Humans choose to have sex and know the consequences that can occur from having sex. Humans should be allowed to choose and make decisions for themselves, but they should
