Once when I was driving home, I saw a blind man who was crossing the street alone expecting that people will stop to allow him pass. In that moment I kept on thinking how this man lives alone and who helps him in doing the daily routine. Hours and hours had passed and I felt that I want to see him again, talk to him and know how he manages things. In everyone's life, there is that person who grabs his/her attention and makes us want to know him more. The person who makes us wonders if he is truly that unique or if he is just pretending it. Clearly my driver, Mohamed Badr El Taggi, is that person in my life who grabbed my attention the first time I met him. He elicited in me the same sentiment if wonder that the blind man had provoked on that day driving home. At once I felt sorry, but simultaneously I knew that he would politely refuse my pity. He would smile a warm smile and ask that I see him not in such a way; he would insist that he be appreciated for being good to his family and for respecting his work.

My driver had a surprising looking when he first came; he was a pale-faced man who came to our house wearing a threadbare jacket and shabby black pants. I felt that he wanted that job badly, because he didn't even ask for the salary and he accepted all my mother's conditions. My first impression was that this man was troubled and had problems- so much and that was clearly shown by his facial expressions. Although he was a thirty-two years old man, his voice was nevertheless strained and weak, he reminded me of my grandfather, who is ill. He still takes care of his three sisters, his two sons and daughter. His parents died when he was fifteen years old and so his siblings became his responsibility. Throughout the past three years, I have come to know him better and understand him day after day. Although he is uneducated, he learns very quickly, as his mind is sharp. He preferred skipping school and I think he made this to provide the chance for his sisters to go to school. He is always thankful to God even for the things that he lacks and he believes that what does not belong to him was never meant for him. Many situations happened that proved this to me. Two months ago, his wife was pregnant but she aborted the child. I can still remember his face when he knew that she was pregnant; he was so happy and he even cried. I imagined how he would feel if anything bad happened and I told my self that he will be very sad and he wouldn't accept it easily. Unfortunately, when she went through with the abortion, I was really surprised by his reaction. He accepted it very kindly and he thanked God, who he had faith, and believed that he knows what is better for him. This situation convinced me that he was a good person; he accepts what ever comes to him because he believes in God and his choices.
