Animal Cruelty

Have you ever had a horse? Well if you did you are one of the luckiest people ever. Horses are used for companionship, pleasure, jobs, profit, and transportation. Throughout history this has not changed, people depend on horses for all those things and many more. In return they provide the horses with food, water, shelter, and care. Everything a horse deserves and earns for their services to humans. Sadly, when some horses can no longer complete their expected duties they face a life filled with uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring. They endure the pain of neglect, starvation, and often times the terror of death at a slaughter house. There should be a crime against such thing why do these heartless people feel the need to do such thing. The slaughter of horses is an unnecessary and inhumane act that has no reason to continue.

Horse Slaughtering is cruel. This first became an issue when people started to ship more and more horse over the border just because they didn't want them anymore. Think about it would you just give away something that was dear to your heart just so it can be destroyed. There is a great issue when it comes to the slaughtering of horses because people do it for no reason at all do to the fact they lost one race, they're too expensive to take care of, or you just don't want it anymore. There are many complications before the horses even get to the slaughter house lack of food, no water, transported in the wrong type of carrier, and many more things of that sort. In today's society horse slaughtering is legal; Congress has made it legal once again. Many people across the United States have created petitions and organizations that are trying to get the Congress to stop the slaughtering of horses. This a very controversial topic due to the fact that some people see no wrong in it, while others do, maybe if people where more educated on the topic and they know what these innocent animals are going through then maybe more people would be against horse slaughtering.

People see horse slaughtering as okay due to the fact it's less stress on their pocket book. Horses can cost, at the least 10,000 dollars a year just to manage, depending on the size. You have to pay for the basic necessities when you have a horse. Just like you and I, they need a place to stay and keep warm at night time, need to be feed every day, and well groomed. Some people may also feel as if they are helping others when they kill horses because they give other countries an inexpensive meat product. In other countries they have no problem with eating other types of foreign meats. Most are half of the population of others countries eat different types of meats and consider it as a treasure. In all types of ways this is wrong they should try to find some other form of meat that is cheap and not kill a poor innocent animal for their consumption.
