Does Immigration make for a Better America?

Immigration does and does not make for a better America. You probably wondering why I also answer no as well. I do not oppose immigrants coming to America, but I don’t think it would make America better. America needs to fix their problems within itself that is much more important than immigration. I don’t know how America is going to deal with those issues, but they need to find a good solution that will accept all people no matter of their race, culture or where they are from.

I have to reasons why immigrants make the U.S. better. Immigrants will take jobs that Americans would not like to do or too lazy to do. From what I see, most immigrants are willing to take low-level jobs like i.e. picking fruit in the fields, janitor, construction work, etc. Not only will they take those jobs, they are willing to work for low wage. Most adults in America will not even work for minimum wage they are mostly protesting for higher wages. For example, I read an article about a month ago about how people in Chicago, IL were protesting for minimum wage to increase to about twenty dollars. I, personally do you not agree with this. Why should someone working at panda express should be paid almost the same amount as an entry level police officer? The police is officer is hopefully saving lives and not ending them, while the person at panda express is worried about not burning the rice for their customer. If they keep complaining about minimum wage they will eventually quit or get fired, then they will not have a job at all. Immigrants will eventually take the job because it is probably a better work environment than what they are familiar with. Also instead of hiring people for jobs, you may be replaced with a computer that does the job more efficient than humans can. Eventually Americans and the immigrants will not be able to get a job and the unemployment in America will soon increase. This outcome will not look good for America.

Some Americans tend to be lazy. These type of people expect everything to be handed down to them and not expect to do anything in their life.  Most of the people depend on the government to supply their every need. Many people need to realize that the government (welfare system) is only temporary. You are not supposed to depend on them for your basic essentials for life. People get mad when they are not receiving their items from the government, but the questions you should be asking yourselves are “Are you actively looking for a job?  Are you doing what you suppose to do? Do you expect to part of the system for a while?” Instead of depending on the system, you need to get out of the system and depend on yourself. Some people think they are beating the system by staying there and using the government dollars that people with jobs pay for. What they don’t realize is that the system is actually controlling them by telling them where to live, how much food stamps they give you, and who can stay with you. If we get rid of the laziness that Americans tend to have, we will somewhat be a better country. The immigrants tend to not be lazy because they have been working hard all of their life, because that is all they know. Most of the time the immigrants don’t keep the money for themselves, they their earnings to their families back home to help provide with whatever needs that they have. Also the U.S. currency is worth much more in some countries and this is very helpful to their family. Also why do we call people not from America immigrants? If they received citizenship in the U.S. they are now Americans. We should call them Americans unless they state otherwise. That was my main two reason why American can benefit from immigrants/future Americans.
