For my essay, I would like to begin to explain why trigonometry is important. A lot of people might think why is trigonometry is used in the workplace. Well there are a lot of occupations that do use trig, such as engineering, architecture, manufacturing and lots more. But today I will explain how Carpenters use trigonometry because I believe they use this math element in their daily lives.

A carpenter constructs, erects and repairs buildings and other structures made of wood, wood substitutes, steel and other materials. Carpentry calls for trigonometry more than you might think. Every time a carpenter makes an angled cut, the measurement of the angle or the adjoining lines must be figured out. Trigonometry is used in many other carpentry applications, including site layout tasks that require using angular measurements. These tasks might include laying out building foundation lines and determining elevations by completing trigonometric leveling.

The kinds of education you need to become a carpenter is a high school diploma and a college diploma as well. The courses you can take in high school are geometry, algebra, trigonometry, physics, and mechanical drawing to help achieve a better understanding. An apprenticeship is considered the best way to learn carpentry, as apprenticeships provide firsthand experience that lays a good foundation for that career.

The average salary a carpenter makes is around $36,000 a year in Canada and the US. The job posting in Canada are done by the internet, billboards, and job agencies. There are a lot of job agencies in Canada that can help those in need of jobs.

As in my essay, I have discussed how Carpenters use trigonometry in their daily lives. You might have thought before reading of how carpenters use trigonometry. To build a roof you need to use trigonometry, and for making decks, and even making furniture. I strongly believe that carpentry is the most profession that uses trigonometry for what they do.
