1.1.1 Company Business Overview

New World Mart Sdn. Bhd. was established on 17th August 2006 and officially opened their doors to the public on 13th June 2007. It consists of 3 parts (supermarket, departmental store and Snack Shack Delicatessen) providing goods and services to the customers.

Supermarket is in the business of supplying dry grocery, household utilities, electrical appliances, accessories, toiletry product, baby care product, car care, pet care, alcohol & beverage, healthcare product, fresh & frozen fish, meat & poultry, hampers and vouchers. The Bay departmental store is in the business of supplying mens, ladies, children, baby apparel and accessories, fragrance & cosmetics, toys and educational product, luggage, limited range of baby accessories, sanitary product, limited special occasion stationery, bedding product and vouchers. The customers are low, medium and high income group from Bintulu, with small percentage hotel guests and foreign visitors from China, Indonesia and Europe countries. While Snack Shack is in the business of supplying ready-to-eat food, snack food, ice cream, hot and cold beverage, small range of small item, waffles, sausage and cup sweet corn. Most of the customers are predominantly from tenants, hotel staffs, shoppers within the complex and the staff of the surrounding area.

New World Mart also provides door to door delivery services with certain term and conditions as well as regularly updates traffic building activities and upload onto facebook, website, any other social networking service. Other updated news will be shown in newspaper and flyers. New World Mart's customers are predominantly from Bintulu(85%), with a small percentage coming from nearby township(10%), score development, Sarawak Hydro and even small percentage coming from the rest of the world (5%).

The core purpose of New World Mart is to create value for customers in order to earn lifetime loyalty, as in believe that the company success depends on people: the people who shop and the people who work in New World Mart.

The company diverse team strives to provide affordable prices from groceries to daily fresh products. To become customer's preferred shopping store, New World Mart allow convenient opening hours every day.

At all times, New World Mart's activities are guided by the unchanging "Everyday Low Prices" philosophy. Its aim is to surpass customer expectations by providing excellent products at the most affordable prices, without compromising value and quality.

Its unparalleled ability to source from around the world also gives it exclusivity, as it is able to provide world brands and foods to every local store in Bintulu.
