During these 102 minutes, America watched in horror as they were attacked by terrorists that hijacked planes and killed over 2,700. Residents of New York scattered all over the streets in complete anarchy. Inside the soul of each man was complete fear. Meanwhile, inside their minds, they were confused. As mayhem continued, every channel had been showing this broadcast live. Everyone was glued to their television screens wondering what had been going on. Families tried to cling on to the smallest strand of hope that their loved ones weren't harmed. Thoughts began to arise and the people wanted an answer. Most assumed that it must be some type of mistake. After all, a scene of this magnitude was unprecedented. As the day went on people still began to watch in awe. There were wives in complete disbelief as they received calls of their husband's unexpected death. It wasn't until hours later that they heard reports that this whole situation was a planned attack. Firefighter's and police came to the aid of the pedestrians and saved the lives of many who were on the brink of death. Heroes emerged through this dark and hopeless series of events and the nation rose up stronger than it had been prior. This day would always be remembered as a time of great and utter tragedy, but also the one point in this nation's history where everyone was together as one.
