Introduction

Abstract. The project proposal of the marketing and economic research is devoted to studying of the Microsoft strategy analysis, and SWOT and PESTEL analysis in particular. The problem of the research exists at a rudimentary level and is based on the statement that the Microsoft's miraculous success in business has become a topic to many business experts around the world. The report is focused, mainly, on the theoretical approach of McGraw Hill and Michael Porter and operates with such categories, as International Business and Harvard Business Review. This report aims to analyze the strategy of Microsoft. This highlights the strengths and weaknesses and the opportunities and threats Microsoft faces going forward.

Background of study. Microsoft over the past 37 years has positioned itself as the arterial system of almost all computers rolled into use across the world. Although with no competition worth the name to challenge its existence leave alone on technology advancements, the company has still managed to keep pace with both felt and perceived needs of its customers and its niche remains robust thus far. Nevertheless disturbing winds have begun to blow. Moreover numerous blank spots in this field are to be found within the frame of the analysis of the Microsoft strategy analysis.

It should be admitted that you often would find Microsoft on your day today life, making it the most helpful software provider at your PC, desktop or Laptop. Moreover, I could admit that the timeliness of the work is based on the idea of the "second mover". As it is said, first-mover advantage cannot be always sustainable, and Microsoft has been very effective at being the second company in many markets, and subsequently dominating those markets. Microsoft always creates a lock in.

The problem statement. The most important question nowadays is: What makes Microsoft so successful? First of all Microsoft offers more value to their customers by many innovative features, brand reputation, quality, reliability accountability etc. When we speak about the rarity of the work, it is necessary to admit that Microsoft offers software with unique features like friendly and beautiful user interfaces. Innovation and entrepreneurship are the fundamental drivers in today's economy. Innovation is a key aspect of business level strategy of Microsoft as with implications for quality price and sustainability. It was also a strategic direction for Microsoft. Microsoft entrepreneurs claim unique competence for research and development. Their innovative concepts and unique new features are well known around the world. Their capability to do continuous innovation has become so vital to their strategy. It creates a corporate culture and an inclusive business environment where the best and brightest diverse minds, work together to meet global consumer demands. The collaboration of cultures, ideas, and different perspectives are considered organizational asset and brings forth greater creativity and innovation.
