The Truth is Always the Best Road to Take

Some human behaviors are not always practical. The behaviors we sometimes exhibit can cause us more problems than they actually solve. We realize that if we had just admitted the truth that it would have saved a lot of time, trouble and even heartache. Usually it is not until it is too late.

The truth is always the best road to take. Lying is a human behavior that people exhibit to get what they want, or to gain advantage over someone else. Lying is done to manipulate a situation, to get what we want. As children, they don't realize that when you lie, you have to sometimes keep lying to cover up the lie you already told. Keeping your story straight is not an easy task. Lying one time will come back on you at some point down the road, sooner or later. For example I know a couple of boys about 12 and 13 that got mad at their parent and made a phone call to authorities telling them that they were being abused. The authorities moved into action to check out the accusations. The case was ruled no findings. The children did not get their way. Another time they got mad at the mom and physically attacked her, she called 911 police responded. Charges were filed on the children. This was the second time of the physical attacks reported. Children faced the consequences of their behavior. They now have a track record for all to see. The third time the children got upset with the mom, because they were not getting their way. The boys went through the master bedroom door with a hammer after the mother. Again, the authorities were called; the children were arrested for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. The children were placed into custody of the authorities. Court appearances were made. The mother is now fearful for her life and that of her small toddler. She is a single parent, after losing her husband 5 years ago to cancer, and 5 months later, still has nightmares of the ordeal. There is a no contact order, therefore the family has been separated for all this time because the children not only lied, but also took matters into their own hands to get what they want. The mother is torn between her small toddler and her older children. She is afraid of them, but misses them so much. The family that once was, is now gone! All because of children lying, being disobedient, and thinking they had it tough before.

The mother has 19 years of experience in education, she can no longer work with children in a direct capacity due to the lying, false accusations from the children, being on her record when a potential employer does a background check on her. She has had to return to school after 27 years to start over in her career.

Some lie to stay out of trouble, only to realize that it got them into even more trouble than if they had told the truth to begin with. Some lie because to them
