Module 2 Geography of religion

Diffusion of Religion- Religion is stated to be a system in which beliefs, faiths, or a force of unity. Diffusion of religion is said to be the expansion of ideas and beliefs from the core or hearth. These religious unions have diffused into many parts of the world in seek of territorial control to home their religious traits. This mass transfer of religious followers has caused a religious greed phenomenon. This greed is a greed for both territory and power control. The development of Religion can be considered to be one of the major up-rises in the world's history. Although the diffusion has no exact or consistent pattern, religious movements have spread out with any excuse or situation such as economic crisis' and depressions, migrations, etc. The quest for territorial gain has caused diffusion in the world's major religious to leave their hearth and open doors to followers although they weren't born into the religion and accepting recruits to convert into a certain religion. The concentration on strength has sped up the diffusion of what now are the larger religions of our times, i.e. Christianity and Islam. The smaller religions who chose to keep their focus on their beliefs such as Ethnic religions. These Ethnic religions focus on nature and fertility rituals. The lack of an expansion has kept some religions from diffusing into what the more typical modern religious movement. Diffusion has consisted of a military like recruitment effort of expanding the number of followers. Whether this openness to new followers is a plan to later try to overtake all other religions by all means, or simply a way to spread out unity and harmony until peace has overcome war, diffusion will continue to expand and transfer its beliefs to all communities whether small or large. Some religious diffusion will also occur as a forced diffusion by defeat of another religion, and also with the cause of marriage and conversion of one partner's religion to the other. The future will see no stop in religious diffusion as religion will never seize to add of slightly modify beliefs to continue such expansion and interest to upcoming followers.
