EMBA ESSAY

In today's fast paced global economy, organizations' business issues and strategies are ever changing, requiring adaptability in order to stay competitive and maintain profitability. The business world has changed tremendously and in order for organizations to remain on the competitive edge, leaders of these organizations worldwide have to have all the training and business tools that are necessary to take their organizations to the next positive level.

This goes hand in hand with my career goal which is ultimately opening up a business consulting firm which would be able help businesses and other organizations identify problems, and recommend solutions to those problems. My strategy to achieve this goal is to gather as much experience, theoretical business training and also excel as a business leader.

I have been in various leadership roles in Asia and also here in the United States. As a leader in Asia, I encountered a lot of challenges due to the lack of business training and I did not have the tools that were necessary for me to lead effectively. I quickly realized that in order to excel as a business leader, I needed more business training and because of the love I have for business, I took the risk and came all the way to the United States for further business training.

After my Bachelors in Business Administration from Michigan State University, I have realized that I am more equipped to work in any organization because I am able to use the knowledge I acquired from the above business schools to make logical business decisions.

Although everything at work has been on most part fruitful, I have of late realized that I do not have the advanced knowledge to understand business models, think strategically and also apply financial metrics to business decisions. In my zeal to excel as a business manager, I need these advanced business skills. The NJIT EMBA program is exactly what I need for my business success because it will enable me to explore my various interests and also enable me to make more informed decisions as a business leader.

The EMBA will definitely help me to achieve my career goals in that I will be able to acquire more business tools that will enable me to excel as a business leader and also will be a very valuable asset to my ultimate goal of becoming a business consultant.

The NJIT EMBA in particular will be very valuable as it addresses real world issues, various business practices and culture. It will also give me a chance and the opportunity to interact and gather valuable knowledge from my peers in class who are professionals in various business fields and on top of that, it will offer me the flexibility that is greatly needed to balance work and college.
