Abstract

This research has been undertaken to understand the Just in Time manufacturing method, fundamental techniques in using it and how it has been successfully used in japan.  Furthermore, the impacts of using Just in Time method in UAE firms, in order to conduct the study, the research methods included secondary sources only.  Whereas, Just-in-time can be explained as a method of running operations in an entity to ensure that they operate proficiently and leanly with an aim of minimizing waste and enhancing quality of output. The system was developed and implemented in Japan in the 1970’s. Some of the vital elements that need to be in place for the system to work are: stable production, supple resources, output of very high quality, and dependable suppliers among others. Finally, the system has been considered to be successful in Japan and the rest of the world. Some of the key benefits that have been achieved from the use of the system are a reduction in material handling cost and wastage, a reduction in labor cost and space requirements.

From the research, it has been found that Just in time system doesn’t realize best result for five to ten years, and the main objective of this methods not only to elimination of inventory but to think more closely to manage the eliminate wastes in the construction process.

Introduction

In 21st century economy, businesses start adopted different approaches to cut operational costs and offer competitive prices in order to survive and grow. Constructing companies focus on high quality projects (sites) at a low cost. The building procedure is the finding of various contractors’ efforts to erect a building never seen.  The procedure is frequently practically clamorous, regardless of the fact that the work is arranged according to best industry hone and unexpected occasions are more than guideline the special cases. These reasons and more, drives constructing companies to adopt just in time concept; which relies on efficient working relationship between the supplier / suppliers and building firms. If these relations are incompetent, the entire system slows or fails, leading ultimately to customer dissatisfaction. In addition, based on our research, just in time method had a successful implementation around the world and in UAE.  Implementing just in time in UAE put the business to face and exceedingly competitive environment with an aim of improving benefits and minimizing costs.  At the beginning, the only business in UAE begin to implement just in time through there supply network process like assembling (Manufacturing) was the non-services business.  On the other hand, services business doesn’t use just in time framework immediately, services business in UAE require some serious energy to examine just in time usage differences compared with non-administrations segment.  Currently, it is so obvious that UAE service sector exploit applying just in time standards in different type of their businesses such as hotels, restaurants … etc.  

Methodology

The procedures followed in the research for collecting data and information from the respondents was based on secondary research.  

Within the secondary research the information from already published sources which include online articles and other student’s research.

2. Information Identified

The objective of this research was to identify the Just in Time manufacturing method and the fundamental techniques used in, as well as how this method successful in Japan and all over the world, moreover, how “just in time” manufactured method is valid in the UAE and example of firms are using same method and difficulty of using it.  As discussed earlier, the information was collected through internet. In addition, various published studies by different online newspaper and research companies were also reviewed.

PDCA/ Deming Quality analysis

Applying PDCA / Deming Analysis to complete this assignment urges us to be systematic in our way to deal with critical thinking and actualizing arrangements.  However, we have used this PDCA analysis to

improve the quality of the paper and reach a high standard of professionalism.

Step one: Plan

Completing the requested criteria done by the group members, searching, conducting and preparing the final qualitative paper. Distributing the responsibilities among group members done equally, abstract, definition of just in time and, just in time in UAE and Japan, introduction, conclusion and bibliography were the followed criteria by the group.[pic 1]
