Individual Work

Smart people underperform because they fail to prioritize. When a manager is desperately trying to deal with more input than he possibly can, the brain and body get locked and its ability to solve problems flexibly and creatively declines and accordingly the number of mistakes increases. Nowadays such things has become epidemic in organizations. People with ADT have difficulty staying organized setting priorities and managing time.

  Analyze of my Director:

He was appointed a few months ago as a Director. He wants to be involved in everything and to be aware about all, even about meaningless things happening in the company. He is very busy, speaking on the phone all the time, reading mails, etc. He has disorder on his desk and there is a paper jam on it all the time. We all have a feeling that he is angry all the time.  He is trying to do his best to achieve the goal, but this disorder is making problems to him to concentrate.  He has many ideas, but can’t focus on it.

Once there was a big tender, where our company was participating. On pre-bid meeting where he was attending as a Director of the company was said very important information regarding some changes in tender, which was also sent to his email. He forgot to give this information to the person, who was responsible for tender preparations and therefore during preparation of the documents the error has occurred and our company was disqualified from the tender.

He made this mistake because his brain was overloaded. He is trying to deal with more input than he possibly can and accordingly he forgets the big picture, the goals and values he stands for. He does not get enough sleep due to time deficit and he loses his creativity and ability.

Some of us fall victim to destructive, addictive behaviors that harm ourselves and others.
