I PV2 Suarez, Jeremy is writing this essay since i have proven myself to lack responsibility and have showed lack of commitment to my company and team by not being on time/showing up at all, to accountability/pt formation. The importance of being on time to any formation is that so you will be early to where ever you need to be, and what ever you need to do. If you are early you will always have time to make sure everything that you need to do is straight and there aren't any errors in what you need to(100) do.It is important to be on time for work because it shows that you are dedicated in the things that you do and it can help you in moving up in your field of work to an nco or even officer. It is important to be on time in the military because you will be at the right place at the right time, you will be accountable for and if anything was to happen no one can accuse you of any thing because you were where you were suppose to be at the right time, also so you wont(200) be absent without leave. When ever you show up late to some thing it shows that you have no discipline or respect for any one in your team or platoon because now every one has to wait for you to arrive instead of starting on time or possibly earlier. If your constantly showing up late itends up becoming a habit and you will always be late for everything.Trust me i know about being late because back when i was in high school i would show up late everyday and everyday i got chewed out for it. but of(300) course this is the real world and its much worse then school. In the military it is very important to be on time because if you don't you might have to do a 5 thousand word essay or get a counseling statement or even get smoked because you didn't do what you were suppose to do and weren't where you were suppose to be when you were suppose to be there. It is important to be on time because it shows leadership, commitment, loyalty and that you are responsible enough to be trusted with out supervision. It is very important(400) to be on time because it can be crucial to the mission, my battle buddies, my leadership, and myself as a soldier. Being on time always and even being early is good on the mission and any plan that has been made.My battle buddies rely on me to be on time, especially specialist darlington;team leader; who will get chewed out if i do not complete this essay. It will be done because i hate relying on people and Im sure you do as well. When any one is late there battle buddies get chewed out for it.Thats(500) something i learned back in basic training.Being on time shows that a soldier is dependable and has his or her priorites straight.SFC Santiago was right when he said if i cant show up to accountability formation in the morning then how the hell is going to be able to depend on me in afghanistan. Being where one needs to be at the right time is always one of the most important things of being a soldier. Failure to be on time not only messes with mission readiness, but also can without a doubt cost unnecessary loss of life.(600) If one of my battle buddies get killed for my idiodic decision to not be where i need to be at the proper time, then i dont deserve to wear this uniform because everyone wearing this uniform is apart of my new family. And i need to do everything in my power to protect them, and i will. There wont be any more missing PT or showing up late to any formation. Getting an article 15 or having to do essays suck, but the last thing i would want is to see a fellow soldier die because of my mistake.(700) Being on time to a formation or anywhere in life is really important and has alot to do with combat effectiveness. If i was in afghanistan and i needed to relieve one of my battles from guard duty but was late to doing so, his combat effective is dropping for being out there a certain amount of hours. And if we were attacked and he was not able to react as quikly as a well rested soldier than all
